Guest guest
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has advice for treating MS? I have been treating an MS patient for several months now, and the results are all over the place. I cannot make rhyme or reason as to why sometimes she gets amazing results after a treatment and other times not. She also has bipolor disorder and takes medications for that along with medications for MS. She is overweight, has some dampheat. At one point I treated her dampheat nightsweats and although the nightsweats greatly improved she missed a period--possibly because the damp draining points brought up yin deficiency. Her main complaint is extreme fatigue and depression. Her pulses are very weak and her tongue has a bit of a dirty coating which is thicker in the back (sometimes just a bit, sometimes a lot), central crack, red blood veins underneath tongue. Here are the types of points that I have generally done on her: right GB 41/left SJ 5; St 36; LI 10; Sp 3; UB 23; UB 20; Du 20; Du 16, Du 3 to go to legs. When dampheat gets worse I add K 10 or Sp 9--dampheat shows up as dark urine and nightsweats on the head. I haven't focused on things like scalp points for motor areas because that has not been her main concern. I use very sallow needling, just tapping the needles in. Sometimes she gets a real boost of energy from tx, sometimes not. Lately nothing has been working. She recently added Lythium to her medications because she was so depressed, and from what I can see its just made her more tired, but who knows. I've tried to talk to her about the Swank diet and eating a scrictly organic diet without food additives, but she still eats a fair amount of sugary food and her doctor told her there is no evidence that the Swank diet works. Any thoughts? She's a really neat person (although a bit frustrating as a patient!) and I'd really like to help her. Laura
