Guest guest
Hi Everybody! It grieves me to have to tell you this. I financed my clinic with a patchwork of loans on the advice of my SCORE counselor. Now that everything is all together he suggested that I consolidate the credit card debt into one of those debt management programs. It turns out that they are not all operating legally, and yes, I picked one of the bad ones. This came to light when I saw a magazine piece about it. All of these claim to be non-profit but the scammers have a definite method of operation that you can spot by HIGH FEES and no actual counseling. If it is a good program the fee will be no more than $50 start-up and no more than $35 per month. This is an interesting article on it: <http://www.consumerfed.org/040903ccreport.html> It is too late for me. I hope no one else falls for this.
