TCM clock made easy

Hi,

Before I went to TCM school, I did an intensive at Michael Reed Gach's

Acupressure Institute in Berkley. Some of the things I learned there I

still use everyday(as far as TCM theory) and it put me way ahead of my class

in understanding TCM and Five Element.

for the TCM clock, I've remembered it the way they taught it and not

referenced a chart since:

In the morning, you get up and take a deep cleansing breath (Lung) 3-5a

then you go to the bathroom (Large Intestine) 5-7a

you eat (Stomach)--(remember order because there are always 2 yang together

, then 2 yin) 7-9a

then digest (spleen) 9-11a

you go have lunch with your friends (heart) (fire elements are about

relationships) 11-1p (lunchtime)

then digest (small intestine) (remember because it's paired with heart) 1-3p

you finally empty your (bladder) (2 yang together) 3-5p

and kidney (it's mate) 5-7p

time for dinner (relationships & fire) (we need another yin) pericardum 7-9p

and enjoy their company (fire) (yang) San jiao 9-11p

time to go home, maybe stop at the bar 11-1a (Gall Bladder)

if you stay too long (closing time 2am) you hurt your (Liver) 1-3a

The amazing thing is that it fits - this is pretty much life (except I

don't get up that early & I don't drink anymore). Once I learned this, I

assumed this is the source of the clock.

Hope this helps you as much as it did me.
