Guest guest
I am a new memeber. I am a clinical psychologist with interest in TCM. I was wondering if anyone knows of any treatment that could help cancer patients. I can tell more about the patient I have in mind, but first wanted to hear from those who have any suggestions. I appreciate your contributions. Dr. Jacobsen
Guest guest
Dr. Jacobsen: Off the top of my head, I have an English-language book on TCM treatments for lung cancer, and other books on other types of cancers. TCM can reduce side effects of Western medicines. Best, Jack --- opalveien <opalveien wrote: > > > I am a new memeber. Guest guest
Dear Dr. Jacobsen: Typical TCM Therapy for Lung Cancer is the name of one book published by the Shanghai University TCM Press ISBN 781010 791 7/R.753 There are other books in the series but I think this is the only one that discusses cancer. The same press publishes a series of bilingual books on TCM. The one on gynecology lists treatments for ovarian tumors, but only for benign tumors. The gynecology book in the series " Yi bai tian xue zhong yi fu ke " (Study TCM gynecology in 100 days) has a brief discussion and some herbal remedies for malignant tumors but it is in Chinese. There is a combination of acupoints known as Mei Hua San Zhen (Three- Needle Plum Blossom) for ovarian cysts. There may be other books available but they would all be in Chinese. Guest guest
Dear Dr. Jacobsen: Yes, there is some more information out there, but in small sections of books, here and there. Maybe I'll go ahead and collect the sections on ovarian cancer and translate them directly. Guest guest
There is _Management of Cancer with _ by Li Peiwen. Donica Publishing. A very good book on a number of different types of cancer, including common cancer side effects, dietary therapy, and qigong. I'm not sure if this one has been mentioned yet. -Anne

Guest guest
Thank you gentlemen for an interesting thread. I too have a patient with a cancerous condition. It is termed pseudomyxomaperitonei, a condition that is endometriosis-like, but considered a form of cancer. Long-term survival rates for this condition according to studies I pulled up from PubMed are extremely low due to the fact that microscopic particles of the " stuff " remain in the peritoneum and eventually regrow. I wonder if any of you have treated this condition and what your herb and AP prescriptions may have been. Thanks for any thoughts shared.
