Guest guest
So let's break this down: 1) Is Qi an electromagnetic phenomenon, at least in part (i.e. manifests along the EM spectrum, or is a sum total of interactions in the patient/practitioner system requiring EM transmission)? 2) If so, then it would be both electrical and magnetic, according to physics, which means that though the plastic handle will insulate the needle from direct electrical contact, a magnetic field from off of the hand would still induce a current in the needle, especially since the body of the needle remains exposed. In my own practice, if I hold both needles (master and coupled) in an EV treatment, I feel a current passing through me either one direction (polarity) or the other. Maybe I imagine it, but it doesn't feel like the plastic is in the way. And in the beginning, they used stone, wood and bamboo, none of which are electrically conductive. The pressure on the point probably activated a current either piezoelectrically and/or via induction from the practitioner's field. Benjamin Hawes, MAOM, Lic. Ac., CORTEZ FAMILY ACUPUNCTURE 1430 E.
