Guest guest
Hi All I've encountered three patients recently with a simily co- presentation of greasy facial complexion and vaginal dryness. All are post or peri menopausal. All have pale red tongues with very thin, moist tongue coats. Mostly slightly wiry pulse with very little else of note in the way of symptoms. Emotions tend to anxiety and frustation. Not much in the way of big Kidney deficient symptoms. Does anyone have any ideas on this co-presentation? Seems like a problem with jin/ye distribution. Looking for acupuncture treatments/dx that might apply. The dryness and low libido seem to be the major complaints. I'll give full intake info if needed but just thought I'd shoot this out to begin with if it stimulates any discussion or knowledge on this. Thanks, Shanna
Guest guest
Hi Shanna, I've been told by a OB/GYN acup/herb specialist that I respect that vaginal dryness is almost always liver yin xu. My understanding of a greasy facial complexion is dampheat...so perhaps the dampheat is drying up the liver yin. I've seen fishoil supplements help with the greasy face.
