Hi everyone. I have some questions about medi-cal and medicare.

alot of talk lately about new codes and medicare coverage etc.

Sorry I am sure this is of no interest to people outside the US.

Does anyone know how medicare will be different from medi-cal?

Medi-cal, I've noticed has been returning claims lately saying that

they need proof of payment or denial from medicare. This is quite a

nuisance considering how little they pay. ANyone else considering

dropping it entirely?

Where do you live? I'm not familiar with Medi-cal....

Medicare is for senior citizens, and they do not reimburse for

acupuncture, not does medicaid which is for people with low income and

disabilities.

Josie;

You can get a form from Medicare that states they deny acupuncture. It

is a form letter from one of their employees. When the patient sends

this form to their secondary, they get reimbursed a lot faster. I got

the form from my school, but I would suggest looking it up on their

website if you are interested.

If you can't find it, I can fax you a copy of mine. It's pretty old and

hard to read but works.
