Dear All!

I'm enclosing a case story of a patient of mine, I'd really like your

professional opinion so please only answer this if you are a practicing

practitioner of and have any insight

Thanks in advance..

Chanalee

Height 1.56 her weight 58 kilograms

Profession: Administrative. The eldest of two.

Age 33 married 4 years without children.

Main complaint: Infertility. She and her husband have been trying to

conceive for two Years. She suffers Endometriosis. Her Right ovary is

blocked the left ovary is normal. She has a growth in the Douglas area (in

the area below her uterus and above the rectum.). When she is menstruating

everything swells up and is compressed and is very painful.

The pains is enhanced when she feels the need to go to the bathroom, she has

excretions that are transparent and thick in the time of the menstruation.

The pain reminds her of the feeling of hemorrhoids.

In the past half year the pain in the first day of her period had become so

insufferable that she can not go to work. In the time of the menstruation it

is difficult for her to find a comfortable position, if takes two aspirin

the pain is slightly tranquilized.

She has undergone two IUI treatments.

Secondary complaints: Allergy: It began as eczema at age 4 in the joints of

the arms and of the legs and behind the ears.

From age 25 suffers Asthma when under stress finds it hard to breath etc....

Also suffers Hey fever

She feels negative and takes the things in a negative way. She {it} must

feel always in command does not like when things do not go as planned

Additional treatments: Diagnostic Laparoscopy

Has undergone three operations: extraction} of her wisdom teeth

approximately a decade ago (under general anesthesia). At the age of 22 had

an operation to widen the lips of the vagina in the after having sex that

created an enlargement. Another operation was to remove adenoids {polyps}

from her nose at age 6 or 7

Suffers from recurring UTI.

Allergies: Stress related Asthma, Hey Fever Allergic to dust etc... (The

classic allergies)

Familial diseases: Her grandfather died of gallbladder cancer. He was

suspected to have had GB stones and when they opened his GB they discovered

cancer in a late stage the operation made it spread and he died shortly

after... Her grandmother had her uterus removed at age 36 because of a

fibroid.

Tends to eat a lot of sweet food and eats a lot of them between the meals.

Lately has been eating a little more salty food than she normally does.

Does not do any exercise.

Her nutrition is very un-orderly. Eats cold food most of the day and heavy

meals in the evening. Her appetite is veeery good.

Sleeps well, falls asleep immediately as soon as she puts her head on the

pillow. Does not wake up unless troubled by something or nervous and then

wakes up at around 4 am and can't fall back into sleep. Does not remember

dreams.

Basically drinks very little but when under stress tends to drink more

because she Tends to be more cold than hot.

She feels clumsier and not concentrated her, tends to drop things.

Likes to sleep in the morning of but once she is up she can be awake nonstop

until she sits and then feels tired. In principle her level of energy is

better in the early evening.

Suffers at times from constipation of but usually has one departure

emanation per day first thing in the morning or after a coffee.

Suffers from pain in her neck area and shoulders that aggravate under

stressful conditions. Her posture is not great suffers scoliosis. She has

lack of balance between the right and left sides of her body. Suffers dizzy

spells during the time of her period she thinks it's because she is in bed a

lot during this time and feels dizzy when rises. Feels pulse in the neck.

A pain in the area of HT3 uses her elbow a-lot...

Glasses for remote vision from age 4. Her hearing is not 100% sometimes if

does not see the lips does not hear and it is hard for her to understand.

She has dry skin mostly her feet dry and hard skin.

She got her period at age 14 the menstruation was irregular. It would

disappear for several months and when she would suddenly get it, it lasted

for a long while. For this reason she began to take the} pill at the age of

15 continuously until she was 28. When she has her period she feels as if

she has little stone in the stomach. She feels the pain and every so often

" flickers " of worse pain.

Half day before the menstruation begins she gets a migraine and then there

is a day in which she gets one stain and then a day without anything and

then it begins the flow

When the flow is constant there are small lumps in the blood. The blood is

red and somewhat dark. The menstruation goes on for approximately three days

the first day hurts most. The bleeding is medium is not too much but is not

scant.

Feelings: Feels stuck. Sometimes feels as if the land is shacking. She is

afraid of being pregnant. Feels lost and feels that her husband stands in

her way of development. Uncertain if wants to get the pregnancy (but came to

me in order that to be able to). Feels aggressive. Her relationship with her

mother is not very great. Was very rebellious as a girl. Thinks she is not

critical enough of herself and lacks courage.

Pulse: Proper speed. Fine. Very fine ST & GB LU is fading. BL, TW, KID, PC are

empty, the LIV is small and tense.

The tongue : Swollen trembles a bit, orange at the tip, teeth marks on

sides, concave in the upper Jiao and there is a also feeble crevasse in the

area, the coating is a bit gray, the veins are swollen but not dark.

First treatment {care}: The principle of treatment was: Reinforcement of the

blood], calming the mind, the movement of the blood in the uterus.

Points: CV 2,3 GB26 SP6,8 HT3,7, LIV 3.

I don't have time to analyze everything you listed to come up with a

pattern. However I will take a shot at some things.

First, the last thing this lady needs is to get pregnant. She is not

really stable in herself to bring another person into the world.

I would spend some time educating her on the benefits of acupuncture for

the other conditions she suffers from - liver, mentruation issues for

one. Ask her to hold off on trying to get pregnant until you can bring

her into balance more. Tell her it will make her more physically and

mentally ready to have this baby - and to make the choice when she feels

better. Get her in regular treatment and treat her overall constitution

or patterns that you see. In the Five element tradition that I studied,

I would clear what we call possession - either from mental or physical

causes. JR Worsley describes this in his book. Then I would clear

Aggressive Energy - Back Shu points - for yin meridians. Then zero in

on your pattern diagnosis. Sounds like stuck liver Qi and Blood. You

did LR 3. There is some deficiency (Blood, etc.) going on too. I would

educate her on her diet - if she wants to get well she has to start

eating warm soups not cold foods all day. She has a lot going on but

what jumped out at me was spleen - I would tonify spleen and move

stagnant liver Qi. and build blood (tonify UB 17 and 18 as well) as you

have done.

Hope this helps,

Hi Chanalee!

Is this normal, thin or obese? Half of the world does not use the metric

system. Using the dictionary and a caculator I get 127 lbs and 5' 1 " but

I really don't know if I did it right.

Regards,

Pete
