You can read about this study in the British Medical Journal. Researchers looked at the treatment of 88 patients who had knee osteoarthritis. Half of them were treated with acupuncture plus diclofenac (anti-inflammatory drug) while the other half received a placebo acupuncture plus the diclofenac. After a period of 12 weeks their levels of stiffness, pain and knee function were measured. The patients who received the acupuncture had significantly less stiffness, less pain and better knee function than the acupuncture-placebo plus drugs group. The scientists say they would like to carry further studies for longer periods. About 10% of people over the age of 55 have some kind of knee osteoarthritis Meet the all-new My - Try it today!
