Feroz, many thanks for the great detail. I have no experience of bleeding for human therapy, although I bleed Ting Points occasionally in horses, and would bleed the digital veins in a horse with acute laminitis. Therefore, some of my queries and comments may seem naive to those of you who bleed acupoints or venules routinely in humans. 1. Feroz, what is the average number of sessions, and average number of weeks of therapy, to get good clinical results? 2. Can you give approx minimum and maximum estimates for (1)? 3. Taking your average fee per session, can you compare the average cost of blood-letting therapy versus conventional surgery for varicose veins? 4. What are your estimates for clinical success, graded: (a) Excellent; (b) Good; © moderate; (d) poor, no change or worse? 5. What percentage of your clients, treated by blood-letting, subsequently go for conventional methods (surgery, scarring- injections, etc)? IMO, the need for treatment 3 times/wk for a few weeks and then do it once/wk for another few weeks would be offputting for many Irish clients. Because their hospital costs are covered, most people here who have Voluntary Health Insurance or State Medical Benefit Cards would opt for a very brief one-off hospital stay for conventional treatment. Finally, how many others on the List ROUTINELY use blood-letting for this (or for other conditions)? Many Irish people are squeamish about seeing blood. Also, with AIDS/HIV/hepatitis quite common, many therapists are not too keen to do blood-letting routinely either! Do you routinely use disposable gloves got each patient that you bleed? Is it possible to bleed several points/visit and still keep the blood (and bloody swabs, etc) " out of sight " of the client? If so, how do you manage that?
