Guest guest
While reading Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion (text) I came across something I found interesting that I have not heard of before. My question for anyone that can shed some light.... What diseases require that the needles be retained in the body for several hours? Can anyone expand on this? The text stated: " ...some chronic, intractable, painful and spastic cases, the time for retaining of the needle may be appropriately prolonged. Meanwhile, manipulations may be given at intervals in order to strengthen the therapeutic effects. For some diseases the duration may last for several hours. " Source: Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion (revised edition); page 346; Section-- Retaining and Withdrawing the Needle. David
Guest guest
Hi, I've done things with a Chinese heart-lung surgeon who is aware of cases where needle usage largely replaces anaethestic chemicals during surgery. With care in matching the patient and treatment the outcome can be considerably cleaner in terms of chemical related aftereffects, particularly on the heart.
