Guest guest
Hi Attilio, > I ... puncture Liv3-Taichong towards towards Ki 1-Yongquan. More > chance of hitting the point. I think this is what Doc means. > Attilio I asked the question because some texts are NOT specific as to between which metatarsals (MTs) KI01 lies, and a few WWW sources place KI01 between MTs 1 and 2. IMO, the latter location is not correct. I needle LV03 and KI01 at 90 degrees to the skin. I place LV03-Taichong in the gap 0.5-1.0 " distal to the junction of MTs 1-2. I needle it carefully from the foot dorsum so as not to penetrate the superficial vein that runs close to the point. I have never failed to elicit strong Deqi in that way. I locate KI01 deep between MTs 2-3. I needle it (but only rarely - it is a painful point for most subjects!) from the foot sole. One could angle the needle from the SKIN location of LV03 towards the SKIN location of KI01. However, if they are in two different inter-MT spaces (LV03 deep between MTs 1-2, and KI01 deep between MTs 2-3), I do not see how one could penetrate from the deep location of LV03 through to that of KI01. Guest guest
I hope this doesn't seem naive, but I've never understood why someone would want to needle two points like this with one needle. Why not just needle both points? Laura Chinese Medicine , " " <@e...> wrote: > Hi Attilio, > > > I ... puncture Liv3-Taichong towards towards Ki 1-Yongquan. More > > chance of hitting the point.
