Guest guest
Hi Brian! NAET was developed by Dr. Devi Nambudripad, who was both a chiropractor and an acupuncturist. BioSet was started by a chiropractor (Dr. Cutler) who used to be a big NAET follower. In fact if you've ever seen the TV segment on NAET (on the Alternative Healing show), that's Dr. Cutler being interviewed. Then she started her own variation. She does things in a different order, allows more things to be treated at once, doesn't require any avoidance time after treatment, and includes a protocol of taking enzymes along with the treatment. (In fact she markets her own label.) They both use muscle testing and energetic vials that you hold, and various points on the back and elsewhere. Dr. Devi was a bit upset to say the least, especially because she didn't give NAET any credit, and talked like she invented the whole system. ~Jody On Nov 4, 2004, at 9:03 PM, briansbeard wrote: > > > I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the similarities / > differences between these two systems? > > --brian > http://babel.altavista.com/ > > > and > adjust accordingly. > > If you , it takes a few days for the messages to stop > being delivered. > > Messages are the property of the author. Guest guest
Hi Jody, Thanks for the info. I went to the bioset website and there's certainly no credit given to naet there. Naet seems to have a fair amount of rules and regulations associated with it which tends to turn me away, although it's understandable given the information was pulled out from underneath them. It's hard to tell, but do they both use acupuncture / OM to some degree for the treatment? Does bioset use less because Dr. Cutler is a chiro? If they are both similar programs, do you have any feel for cases where one might be more effetive over the other? --brian Chinese Medicine , Jody Herriott <jherriot@m...> wrote: > Hi Brian! > > NAET was developed by Dr. Devi Nambudripad, who was both a chiropractor > and an acupuncturist. Guest guest
Hi Brian, I'm not that familiar with BioSet. I had another practitioner give me an overview a couple of years ago, but I don't remember all the details. Dr. Devi used principles to explain why certain symptoms show up, relating to what areas of the body they manifest in, or what meridians muscle test a being affected. Her treatment points are pretty much a protocol of Bladder line, HTJJ, and points that move qi (the theory being that the allergy is caused by blockages in certain meridians), depending in which meridians are affected. But you don't have to KNOW Chinese medicine theory to decide; it's just a protocol. Dr. Cutler's treatment was slightly different, but I can't remember what it was. Dr. Devi feels it's important to start with nutrients/food groups, while Dr Cutler starts with emotions and organs. A lot of people like BioSet because you don't need to avoid stuff for 25 hours after treatment, but I think for some people that causes problems. Also, for some treating larger groups of things at once doesn't work, and can cause reactions. And I have problems with her heavy promotion of enzymes. But that's a more chiro approach I think. Other than that I don't really know where one might work better than another. Hope this helps. ~Jody On Nov 5, 2004, at 3:55 PM, briansbeard wrote: > > Hi Jody, > > Thanks for the info. > I went to the bioset website and there's certainly no credit given to > naet there. Guest guest
(This isn't exactly TCM so I feel a little guilty posting any more about it.) Some practitioners have things they use so patients can avoid the avoidance period, but Dr. Devi still recommends avoiding for 25 hours. ~Jody On Nov 8, 2004, at 8:21 AM, endurzrider wrote: > > It is no longer necessary to avoid things with NAET now, they have a > computer that simulates a clearing in the body.
