Guest guest
Hello again! I would like some of what the title of this post says. I'm about to finish my course and want to go to China and improve my Mandarin, get some practical tuina training (no more classrooms for the next year or two please!) in an environment where I can treat lots of different people, under supervision of experienced tuina doctors. I'm wondering if anyone on the group has done anything like this, knows anyone who has, or has the email addresses of people who might know about such programs? Especially for Taiwan, since I already have a couple of potential places in China sorted out. Thanks in advance. Simon
Guest guest
Hi Simon, I can't help you, but I can encourage you. :-) Today I visited a tuina/acupuncture practitioner who used the combination in a way I had not seen before. Lots of bodywork in the abdominal area to " soften " things up. Then as she palpated and manipulated, she located specific areas that she needed to work with more deeply using acupuncture and then proceeded to work in those areas without and concern for specific " points " . She just did her " digging " based upon where she felt she had to " tunnel " . :-) She spent about 2 hours with me (initial visit) and was always working on me throughout the full session. It was quite interesting to observe. There were three of us taking notes throughout the session. :-) I enjoy going to different practitioners and picking up new ideas. Afterwards I used the new abdomen technqiques on a friend of mine (we are both studying tuina/qigong) with remarkable success. All three of us were discussing it all day. Good luck! Contact me off-list if interested. Attilio wackname [wackname] 29 October 2004 02:43 Chinese Medicine Practical Tuina training in a clinic or hospital in China/Taiwan? Hello again!
