Guest guest
I treat this as liver qi stagnation. In addition to the normal points I use Stomach 6. Many patients who have chronic neck and back soreness, especially upon awakening, are grinding their teeth. Note that wearing a night guard may protect the teeth but still will produce the neck soreness. Ask if any one has told them they are grinding their teeth because no one is aware of it themselves. A long time ago some one told me that in one system of Japanese acupuncture chronic neck and upper back soreness is a classic sign of liver qi stagnation just as pains below the ribs is in TCM. I've proceeded along those lines and believe it's been very helpful. > > Hi. > > I have a new patient coming tomorrow which main > complaint is grinding his > teeth while asleep. > > I don't have any more information about him at the > moment since I haven't > seen him yet, so will know about all the rest and > pulse and tongue tomorrow > but was wondering if anyone could let me know how they > would consider this > in TCM terms and if they had any success in treating > it. > > Thanks > > May >
