Please forgive me. But, I think it's such an important issue, I just had

to write before it was too late and the film could no longer be

viewed.

I wanted to send this to you before it gets taken of Geert

Wilder's site. I'm sure you've heard of his short movie about the Koran.

Initially, an American site was to air it, but backed out due to threats.

Yesterday, it was posted on LiveLeak.com, a British site. Millions of

people viewed it in the short time it was up. They took it down because

of threats that were made that made them afraid for their lives. The

saddest and most frightening thing was the last sentence in their

statement: " We stood for what we

believe in, the ability to be heard, but in the end the price was too

high. " You can read the statement in it's

entirety at LiveLeak's main page

http://www.liveleak.com/

The video, as of 3/29/08 at 1333 (1:33 pm) , could be viewed on

Wilder's site at

http://wildersnews.blogspot.com/2008/03/this-is-official-fitna-movie.html

.. Be warned, that there are some very disturbing pictures.

Many people are still convinced that Islam is a religion of peace - and

that the Koran is a peaceful book. It's not. While it's true that most

Muslems are peaceful, and it is the extremists who have been perpetrating

the violence, the Koran is very clear about what one is to do with those

who do not follow the tenants of Muhammed.

However, regardless of what one thinks about the film Fitna, and it's

voracity (although so far, many who research this sort of thing have

attested to it's accuracy)...whether one believes it's propaganda or

whatever, the important thing about all of this, there is no longer, nor

has there been for quite some time, the ability to speak freely what one

believes. One can say whatever they want about Christianity, Judiasm,

Satanism, the Government - whatever. Pick anything. The one area that can

not be talked about or discussed, is Islam and the Koran. I'm not talking

about news clips and the like - I'm talking about the fact that people,

world-wide are afraid to publish pictures or caricatures of Muhammed;

that except for a few select sites, discussion about Islam or the Koran

is very limited because people are afraid for their lives. Not just in

the U.S., but all over the world. I know this isn't news to anyone. But,

there are a lot of people who still think Islam is a religion of peace,

and that what the Koran is against is people who don't believe in

God.........it's not true. What the Koran is against, among other things,

is anyone who does not follow Islam. The Koran is very clear about

that.

I'm sorry of it seems as if I've gone off on a rant, but the last

sentence on LiveLeaks' statement is life a knife through my heart - the

freedom to speak one's views is something that is very precious, and

something that Americans have fought dearly to keep. As have some other

countries. And yet, out of Political Correctness - and fear - we are no

longer free to voice our opinions in certain areas - not just Islam and

the Koran - there are other areas as well. I hate politics - always have.

But, if people don't start making a big deal about this right, and start

doing it now, we will lose this right, along with a number of others. All

of a sudden, we're going to wake up in a world we don't like very much.

And, it's going to be our own fault because we didn't do anything when we

could have.

One has to, at the very least, applaud LiveLeak - they allowed a very

controversial film to be aired, when no one else - in the WORLD - would

do so. No one else had the guts. I think that one of the reasons that

newspapers, websites, etc become afraid, is that they are, essentially,

alone. If every paper published the pictures and caricatures of Muhammed,

there wouldn't be much the extremists could do - there would be too many

to silence. But, it's easy to silence and threaten a single, isolated

paper. Same with the websites. If dozens or hundreds of websites ran

Wilder's film, there would be too many people to go after. But, one

website is easy to threaten. For the most part, I think people believe in

the freedom to express one's self and to be critical of a government or

religion. But, they are silent. And, if they remain silent, the cost will

be very high. Think about this, are YOU willing to pay the

price?

I got it to work as well. One thing I see is that one side is about killing and destruction the other side is about peace and love.

I just checked Wilder's site, and I could still get it.(6:15 pm eastern

I went to the home site and couldn't find a reference to it. Let me know

if you still can't find it,and I'll do some digging.

Kenneth,

I watched it, even though I don't usually watch something like that. I

wanted to see what the furor was about. I don't think it's something that

is comparative. I didn't see that at all. Perhaps I missed

something?

But,the thing that bothered me about all of this, was that people were

too afraid to post the wretched thing. And, the one site that did, took

it down after several hours because of the threats they got. That's what

bothered me........and still does.

As far as being an indictment of Muslims or Islam - I don't think that's

what it was, although one could certainly make the case that it was. I

saw it more as a sort of thing that people run on the news - a

compilation of events. Certainly, if radical Muslims have come out with a

more peaceful or compromising view, I'd think the piece was slanted. But,

I honestly can not recall one instance where radical Muslims have said

anything other than how their religion and way of life is the best, and

how they will not rest until everyone believes and behaves as they do.

And, if they don't, they will die. The Koran is pretty clear about how

Muslims are to treat infidels - which most of us are. As I have said, I

think moderate Muslims are selective in what they believe - or at least,

are selective in how they behave. Just like many who have beliefs in

other religions.

But, what I think is frightening, is how afraid everyone is of them. And

how, unlike other religions, they will give no quarter. For them, there

is no place for anyone who does not believe what they do, or live a life

other than the one the Koran dictates. Many Muslims are as afraid of them

as are Christians or Jews. I honestly believe, if people don't pull

together and say, " look, believe what you wish, let us believe what

we wish, " and mean it, their power grows. And, if nothing else,

history has shown us if people don't stand up for what they think is

important, they may lose it.
