Guest guest
Hey Valerie, Gosh, I feel so bad for you, depression can be so horrible. I have fought depression over the years, but found that mine was due to other health issues. Once I got that straightened out, then that helped me a lot. Have you been on anti-depression drugs before? Some times it seems there is just a deep hole that we sink into, and can not see any day light. They say laughter is good for the sole, it can also lift your spirits. This may not seem like a long term answer, but watch a funny movie, talk to a friend that always lifts your spirits. Tell your husband that you are having a really rough time, and you really need him now. This may seem like it could not be possible, but part of what helped me was changing cleaners and personal items that do not have harmful chemicals in them. There are a lot of chemicals in stuff like laundry detergents, fabric softeners, bath and kitchen cleaners, deodorants, bath soap, shampoo, hair spray, window cleaner, and the list just goes on and on. I personally have a lot of sensitivities to chemicals, and surprisingly enough the chemicals can cause depression. Since I changed over to safer products it has really helped me, I do not have to take anti-depression drugs anymore. Please do not feel like you are all alone, I am saying a prayer for you, and God is always with you. If you go to church maybe you could talk to your minister, he might be able to help you. Get involved with a project, something or someone that you can help. Sometimes we need to get our minds off of ourselves, and onto some thing else. Thinking of you, and wishing you well. Here, it is next to impossible to get a doctor so we go to emergency or a walk in clinic. do we get care as good as if we had our own doctor? the best way to stay healthy is to stay away from doctors. The drugs they give are so detrimental to our health. As for your husband not caring, possibly he has a problem wtih seeing you in this state and he feels helpless because he cannot do anything to help you. People can appear to be cold and uncaring when they don't know how to help someone they love. Do you have a health food store that you can go to ? They should be able to help you with something to get you out of the slump you are in. Just as with physical problems it takes time to heal the mental part of us can take even longer. Do not despair. There is help without a doctor. People have been led to believe that is the only answer. IF you need someone to email or be on a chat program I will be there for you. Email me privately if you want. Guest guest
Valerie, Manic Depression is now refered to as Bipolar. If you have just depression, you may be Unipolar.. A Psychiatrist can determine this. Lynn Ward <lynnward wrote: At 07:10 AM 3/25/2008, you wrote:Valerie,Please don't think I'm being judgmental - I'm not. I'm concerned about you and your diagnosis.
