Guest guest
A new study is being done on crohn's using (UGH) whipworms!! Apparently the species of whipworm that infects pigs was used in a few crohn's patients along with immunosuppresives(wonder why? *GRIN*) to combat inflammatory responses be an overactive immune response to normal colonic flora. The recipients swallowed over 30,000 eggs for 3 weeks.20% showed improvement, but keep in mind this is WITH immunosupressives! Researchers CLAIM that this type of therapy poses no public health risk as these type of worms carry no disease?? apparently people in underdeveloped countries have low rates of crohn's as compared to civilized countries such as the US where whipworms are not as common. NO THANKS!!!!!!!!!
