Guest guest
Unfortunately, some of the information contained in this website is pure rubbish. The one about the shrinking thymus is a distortion of the study as the real reason the test subjects thymus shrunk was due to starvation and not the sucralose. Some of the other claims are complete distortions of the research papers, many of whom I have read in their entirety and not relied on abstracts. I have also question four PhD chemists having nothing to do with either stevia or sucralose and unanimously they said that there is no relationship between it and bichlorinated pesticides. It is not a perfect product and I recommend not using it for far different reasons than this website suggests. Aspartame is toxic at any level, sucralose in small quantities is not. Guest guest
I used to buy the packets of green stuff and they wouldn't dissolve well in my coffee YUK. Now, I buy stevia drops and they are delicious in everything. They even come flavored for a treat. - Kenn Johnsen Thursday, March 20, 2008 10:45 AM ~ PP Re: Sucralose (Splenda) Toxicity Information Center Does it have to be the pure green stuff, or is it OK to use the white stuff...which is mixed with something else. Guest guest
Lynn have you used Stevia? In cooking there is no bulk at all and sometimes there is a residual bitterness - like in 2L fluid I use 1/3rd teaspoon - in a coffee I use what might fit on the tip of a teasp. handle - if I use it in cakes i use something else to give the usual bulk that sugar gives - even if it is only a couple of bananas - sugar in recipes gives more than its sweetness - and there is not enough in the stevia to replace that quality. As you say, too much of it and there is this funny bitterness. And, there is always the issue to what to add to make up the bulk. Thought perhaps the bulk stuff might be different. Oh well, guess on those few occasions that I makes cakes and the like any more, I'll stick with the tried and true - sugar. Since neither one of is diabetic or has any particular reaction to sugar. Back when my kids were young, for a while I thought one of my boys had a sort of an allergic reaction to sugar, so began making everything as if he were a diabetic. Recipes may have gotten better now, but I'll tell you, there was no way to disguise a sugar-free cake!! Lynn Lynn have you used Stevia? Guest guest
The sellers say you can, I do not know. I once bought those baking powder.......add oil...and in the oven......25 minutes later you have a cake. I ended up with throwing it out. I am not a baker.Den 21/03/2008 kl. 00.36 skrev Lynn Ward:At 05:34 PM 3/20/2008, you wrote:So, would you use it like sugar? Similar consistency?
