well, I agree...I think one has to be cautious about believing anything

one reads. Frankly, though I thought their figures were interesting (1 in

4 girls has an STD), I wondered about a number of things - like the girls

who don't go to the doctor, the doctors that might not report all STD's,

etc. Even with kids being as sexually active as they are today, I thought

1 in 4 seemed awfully high. I have no doubt that the number is high, but

that's 25% of all teenage girls. Whether there is corporate control - I

don't know. Influence perhaps...Control....I don't know. Plus, at this

point, I can't see the reason to inflate the figures...I could see it if

it came from a conservative, Christian organization who believe

abstinence is the way. Figures like those certainly support that idea.

 

Dunno - perhaps you're right. Perhaps they're going to come out with some

special, magic something, that will ensure (ostensibly) the cure of all

STDs, or stop the transmission of them. Haven't heard about anything like

that, though. Have you?
