Guest guest
Hi Kelly, Welcome to our happy little group! Get comfy, make yourself at home. Its great to have you here! What part of upstate are you in? I used to live in NYC, and loved trips upstate, although I only got up to about New Paltz and Woodstock How long ago did your friend get that chemical burn, did it happen recently, or is it an old injury? *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Kelly Beers [beerfarm] Hello! I've been lurking here a while now and thought it best to introduce myself. I'm Kelly and I live in upstate NY. Thanks to Butch for showing me the way to this group! :-) I see lots of familiar face and lots of new ones too! I started making soap last year and before going much further, thought it would be a good idea to educate myself on EO's and all the things they can do...good and bad. I'm also a big fan of alternative therapies, so they, along with herbs and such, are right up my alley. :-) I appreciate all the knowledgeable folks here that share their education, thoughts, opinions and experiences with the rest of us. Now, for a question...I have a friend who accidentally got a chemical burn on his leg (plaster). The plaster was dry (not reconstituted) but still caused a spot on his leg that burns/itches and the skin keeps sloughing off. He's one of those stubborn types that refuses to go to a doctor (plus the fact he doesn't have insurance doesn't help), so I was wondering if helichrysum, either the oil or hydrosol would be something that may help in a case like this? Thanks so much and I hope you all have a wonderful day! :-) Kelly Beers

I'm about 2 hours north of Woodstock (neat town!), kind of midway between Oneonta and Albany. > > How long ago did your friend get that chemical burn, did it happen > recently, or is it an old injury? Hmmmm...let's see my friend got the chemical burn about 3-4 months I'm thinking. It's definitely better than it was, but it will kind of heal, then slough off and start the cycle all over again. Guest guest
Yea I know. I am trying to cut it down but the energy level for me to keep up with all of them is not there. I at least drink mostly organic coffee. That's something right? :-) Oh well I guess that should be the first thing to go. I do like it and plan to finish it one of these days. I've thought about taking Jeanne Rose's aromatherapy course, but want to get through the herbal course before taking on anything else at this time. I think that there are quite a few aromatherapy courses out there - assuming you want to take the home version?? Good luck! ~Kathy
Guest guest
hi, i am fairly new to the group. just wanted to pop in and say hi. have been following a fairly natural way of life for many years now. only problem is that i am diabetic and have an underactive thyroid, so i do take medication for those. goal this year is to get completely off of the drugs and find something more natural. also have a question. have been seriously considering attending school to become a naturopath, but am not sure where to find information about available schools. someone here said they were attending online? the only school i know of is the " clayton college of natural health " . has anyone here heard of them and if so, are they a good school? or should i look elsewhere? thanks for having me, mel
Guest guest
Dr Chirstopher's School of Natural Healing is great. Scholarships are available. Herbalists are not licensed or controlled by the State! The founder of Clayton may have graduated from Dr Christopher's School of Natural Healing. hi, i am fairly new to the group. just wanted to pop in and say hi. have been following a fairly natural way of life for many years now. only problem is that i am diabetic and have an underactive thyroid, so i do take medication for those. goal this year is to get completely off of the drugs and find something more natural. also have a question. have been seriously considering attending school to become a naturopath, but am not sure where to find information about available schools. someone here said they were attending online? the only school i know of is the " clayton college of natural health " . has anyone here heard of them and if so, are they a good school? or should i look elsewhere? thanks for having me, mel

One of the things you might do, is ask, in your search if Clayton, or any other place you may find, is good. If people have been satisfied. Sometimes you can find posts from people in various places that address that, and any other specific questions you may have - if you can't find out through this group..
