Guest guest
Lynn, I used to live in your area and frequented a Health food store off of I think it was the Gene Snyder Expressway and maybe the Bardstown exit. It seems like it had the name Anne or Annie in it. Anyhow, they used to be pretty good, although I don't know if they are still there. We left KY in 2001, and I have never looked back. Another thing I would like to suggest is this: Have you tried going to see the Amish Herb Doctors? I don't know if that is what they call themselves, but they are over in Indiana. We used to see them when possible, and they were great. They are Solomon(Solly) Wicke and Jake Schwartz. We always went to see Jake, since Solly is very busy. People apparently travel from all over the world to see these guys. Amy --- Lynn Ward <lynnward wrote: > At 06:54 AM 2/26/2008, you wrote: > > Thank you for your response. Guest guest
Lynn, I am glad that the store is still there. It was one of the nicer ones when we were there. As for the Amish, they are out of Vevay. We lived in Ghent, so went over that bridge to IN, then S thru Vevay, to a road that went N, I think. I can't remember the names but we went thru a small town then at a stopsign, we turned left. As you followed that road, you would see a sign to turn left for Jake Schwartz. If you keep on the road, I believe you would find Solly. I have to agree with you. We noticed right off when we moved to KY that people always seem sick and that they also don't seem to mind. We thought it was just the wildest thing! Unfortunately, we spent alot of time with doctors and hospitals, since we were hit head-on on our move up there. It was I-75, so we were taken to Lexington, but I was able to later change and get doctors in Louisville. Much better care in Louisville, in my opinion. When we left KY, we went back to FL, where I am from, and lived there for two years. We then moved to GA, where DH is from, to run a family business, but once there, they changed their minds. It went downhill from there, plus GA has changed so much. In 2006, we moved to Oklahoma, and have been happy to be here. This is the first place I have lived that I don't want to go back to FL. I will never leave. I just love it! We looked into moving back to FL, but it is costly, and DH wanted alot of land. Then looked into TX, but their property taxes there are outrageous. Almost went, though, but the day we were going to put an offer on a house, we got a flyer about OK, showing very reasonable prices. Came out the next day, and fell in love! The people are super nice, they have sense, the air is clean, and it is affordable. They also drive nice here! We are between Tulsa and Oklahoma City, so within an hour, we have anything we want/need. There are also small towns that have all the basics in life, and we are in one. They say health care is not great here, but we have had no problems. There are some small health food stores in the town a few miles down the road, but there are some great ones in the City and Tulsa. Right here in our town, we now even have a Homeopathic Doctor. I have only heard the best about him, but haven't been there myself, yet. If you want to know any more, I would be welcome to talk to you. Just email me off-list.
