Hi Clare in Taz,

I used to have CFS/ME and my husband had Fibromyalgia but both of us have recovered 90-95% and we again have a life.

Pain and fatigue can be caused by many things and it is hard to find the exact cause.

I also had to avoid dairy and be very careful with the fat added to food.

Coconut oil and butter are OK for me but even the finest olive oil gave me pains in my legs and back.

I said "gave" because maybe it is not the case anymore but I am not ready to give it another try as I am happy with what we use right now.

I also react extremely to aspartame and MSG.

MSG causes terrible headaches and then I am in bed for 3 days.

I also have Gilbert's Disease and that is probably the cause that I am so sensitive to MSG and chemicals. My husband has no problems with these though.

Within the group of patients with CFS or Fibro there are a great number who also have Gilbert's and that is a contributing factor.

For those who have Gilbert's a lot of info can be found:

If one's liver is in a poor condition one cannot be well - in spite of what MDs often tell.

One's liver may very well be functioning poorly even if the results of blood tests are OK according to MDs.

Regaining one's health is a tough and time consuming job but it pays off of course:))))

All the best,

Yannic in Belgium

I too am trialing a Gluten Free regiem...... it has helped my gastro intestinal symptoms greatly but - as of yet- there is no change in my Chronic Fatigue Sydndrome/ ME and Fibromyalgia pains. I shall read all the links you posted.... thank you very much. It is such a debilitating situation to be in and to be thought of as a hypochondriac by the medical establishment doesn't help!

I am happy for you and your husband.

Cheer's from Clare in Taz.
