Hmmmm?

When Saccharin first came out as a sugar replacement, it was discovered soon after that it was a carcinogenic.

Saccharin is not as bad as the big ones out now but Stevia is the best alternative.

Saccharin

My step daughter takes Saccharin in her drinks stating that it has no side effects - does anyone have any low down on Saccharin? I thought it was carcinogenic and as this woman is always sick I now consider the sweetener to be the cause - but I would love some info to give her! She acknowledges that Aspartane is poisonous but is very smug about her Saccharin.

Thanks

Jane,

I remember someone at my working place purchasing a food product some years back and there right on the product was a warning label saying that the product had saccharin in it and that saccharin was carcinogenic. The food industry apparently has been doing a good job of hiding these truths from us it seems since I notice now doing a search that it has been dropped from the "cancer" list. Knowing how the drug companies have misguided us, I think its good practice to exercise caution when dealing with any food additive.

All the google entries say it has not been proved to be carcinogenic
