I have been fighting my weight for 20 years, and have been using a cpap machine for 7.

 

If you need a cpap machine please do not be afraid to use one. It is no big deal and is a big help.

 

As for losing weight, I have lost 12 pounds in the last two months following the principles of Weston A Price. The reason low fat diets do not work is that your body is starved for fat soluble vitamins (A, D etc.). Your body is screaming at you to eat because it is hungry. The key is to get 1/3 of your calories from natural fats. If you are vegetarian, stress nuts, olive oil, coconut oil, avocados, etc. Processed oils are out. I include raw milk (when I can Get it), beef and chicken.

I cut out as much carbs, sugars, HFCS, flours, potatoes as I can. I let myself have 2 slices of Eziekiel Bread every day ( sprouted whole grain ). I force myself to have a high protein breakfast, and try real hard not to eat after 6;00 pm. I eat often, every 2 hours; i.e. a hand full of raw nuts . This is a diet for life. Under this plan you are forbidden to eat less than 2000 calories per day. I also take a broad range vitamin every day with herbs (GNC), and cod liver oil (high in Vitamin A and D, plus all the good fish oil stuff). I will be adding coconut oil soon. I work on my anger because I eat when I am angry. Here are the sources I recommend in order of importance:

I am not diabetic but this guy has an excellent understanding of the overweight connection to diabetes. Once of the reasons I like this guys site and newsletter is that the more I read about the complications of diabetes, the more I am motivated to stick with my food plan.

Overeaters anonymous is a great program. I have used other 12 step programs to deal with my anger, heal addictions and deal with the underlying emotions that compel me to over eat.

THE BEAUTY OF THIS IS "PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION". Be kind to yourself. Take baby steps. Do a little at a time, and do not beat yourself up.

Thanks so much. I will look into that. I must do something. I eat

horribly, and I guess that's the only area of my life that I haven't

converted over to more " natural " . Thanks!!!!
