Back in the old days, the AA Wagon had lots of passengers. The US

National Soft Drink Assn. protested against the approval of

Aspartame/NutraSweet/Equal/951 for use In soft drinks. This group

represents 95% of American soda pop produces. Their many objections

are in the Senate Congressional Record, 5/7/85, included these declarations:

 

Aspartame is inherently, markedly and uniquely unstable.

its degradation products are

Something they didn't mention: the damned stuff is ADDICTIVE! APMs

decomposition products, identified by better chemists, include

formaldehyde, methyl alcohol, diketopiperazine, formic acid and a

list of other killers. Products with this poison arn't for dieting,

just for dying!

Despite the damning evidence and objections of renowned scientists

including the FDA's own experts, the toxin was approved when Don

Rumsfeld, CEO of APMs maker, became Americas Secretary of Defense.

The soda pop producers found its cheaper than sugar and

"addicitifies" like heroin, cocaine and nicotine; the cash registers

began ringing like the London Bells and they all fell off the Anti

Aspartame Bandwagon right in front of the bank. Were

closing their accounts.

 

In 2006 Holland Sweetener, Europe's largest producer, closed their

doors. Merisant, the current US corporate culprit now loses

$50,000,000/year, owes more than they're worth. Care for a case of

"no aspartame" stickers on safe food products. In NZ aspartame is

indicated by the number 951 and

few have a clue. Consumers have a right to know which products

destroy their health and which are safe.

The battle to protect New Zealand against this addictive carcinogenic

neurotoxin is against the New Zealand Food Safety Authority which

really should be called the aspartame manufacturers' propaganda front group.

 

This summer NZ's Soil & Health & the Safe Food Campaign brought me

from America for a 3-week lecture

would convince intelligent people we're dealing with a deadly ignored

Kiwi's, I was denied entry to the Food Safety Authority meeting.

point, Ralph Walton, MD who has done a study on aspartame and is a

psychiatrist and aspartame expert was even refused comment by

Refusing experts, ignoring research, banning evidence, rejecting

federal documents proves NZFSA cares not for Kiwi's, only for

corporations. What is the blood price of such treachery? Horror

stories like Abby's flood in like a never ending avalanche and we

have operations in 38 nations also collecting them. Being in New

Zealand allowed me to talk to aspartame victims there as well. As one

man said, "heard Abby on TV, had the same symptoms, stopped using it

and got well". The NZFSA not only did not want to hear them but as

stumble the people from listening even though Kiwis were getting well

This is an effort to prevent children from suffering from such

Counties around the world are making strong efforts at banning

aspartame. Even large chains in the UK such as ASDA/Walmart, Marks

members of the UK Parliament there have asked for a ban. Calls for

help from many countries show the people are fedup and want it off

Phoenix Organics Says: 'Think Before You Drink' Aspartame

 

Phoenix Organics has launched a campaign urging people to find out

more about aspartame, the controversial artificial sweetener

contained in many 'diet' drinks and foods and beverages marketed as

containing zero calories.

 

The company has turned 20,000 bottles of Phoenix Organic Cola into

mini-billboards carrying its 'Think Before You Drink' message, and

highlighting the concerns that have been raised about aspartame. The

bottles will be given away to consumers over the summer.

 

Company Directors Stefan Lepionka and Marc Ellis said that the

Phoenix team had become aware of the controversy that has swirled

around aspartame since it was approved for use in beverages in 1983,

when they started doing research for a Phoenix Organics brand campaign.

 

"Having read the Bressler Report of the FDA and other reports on the

effects of aspartame, we had the living daylights scared out of all

of us," said the Directors.

 

Internationally the evidence is overwhelming; There are thousands of

people who claim that aspartame made them sick.

 

Our company has created a new section on its website at

www.phoenixorganics.co.nz containing links to New Zealand and

overseas websites with information on aspartame and the 92 different

symptoms noted in over 10,000 complaints received by the US Food &

Drug Administration.

Both Stefan and Marc agreed "there would inevitably be accusations

levelled that the company was leaping on to the issue of aspartame

happy to continue drinking and eating products that contain it, then

that's an informed choice. We may think they're fools, but that's their right.

 

Coca Cola has responded to media attention on aspartame by launching

a website www.gettherealfacts.co.nz that reflects the official line

on this highly controversial artificial sweetener.

 

"Its interesting that you don't see anything about Coke's

multimillion dollar investment in a natural, non-caloric sweetener,

called stevia. Coke uses stevia as a sweetener in its diet drinks in

Japan and is trying to get approval to use it in the US and elsewhere.
