Guest guest
Hi, I know this is a contentious topic and so I expect varied response. I have been vegetarian all my life but believe that my diet has contributed to metal, emotional and physical problems that I have rectified somewhat with supplements, organic, biodynamic foods and the addition of eggs. I’ve been reading a lot of Weston A Price, regarding his research on Indigenous groups around the world and the foods that they eat. He says that they all have something in common, they all eat meat and some raw animal product and fermented foods. I’m convinced that a good human diet would contain these elements, but I also question – not because I’m determined to remain vegetarian – but due to curiosity and opening up possibilities – I’m curious to know what mountain gorilla’s eat? They are like us, primates and have survived on a vegetarian diet for as long as anyone knows. So what do they eat? And are there any ‘meats’ or animal products in their diet? The other question I have is regarding evolution. Again another contentious issues and is broadly accepted and rejected. But if indeed evolution is a fact, would it be possible for humans to evolve towards survival on a vegetarian diet? There have been tests done that show differences in autopsies done on cooked vs. raw food diets. So can a diet change your system during your life, so as to gain maximum nutrition from the foods consumed? Big questions… perhaps there are web links that might assist… Alice J
