Guest guest
Dear Friends in Christ..... it was 'specifically' the word MAY referring to the fifth month of the Christian calander - in relation to the birth of Jesus and (quoting from Kraigs post) that got my curiosity into action mode. ALL OF THE LINE OF KINGS DESCENDED FROM DAVID WERE BORN IN THE MONTH OF MAY! (I would still like to know where this statement has its foundation) I do just want to say that I BELIEVE that God brought Jesus into 'being' as a human, exactly at the time HE wanted and for the purpose HE wanted...... I BELIEVE............ Alleluia! Now having said all of that I pose these questions. Pregnancy takes 9 months right? lets see here.... June - July = 1 month August, September, October, November, December, January, February, March =========== 9 months using the Christian Calander BUT Jesus was conceived and born (using the Jewish calander right?) The Jewish calendar has the following months: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Judaism/calendar.html#Months Month Length Gregorian Equivalent Nissan 30 days March-April Iyar 29 days April-May Sivan 30 days May-June Tammuz 29 days June-July Av 30 days July-August Elul 29 days August-September Tishri 30 days September-October Heshvan 29 or 30 days October-November Kislev 30 or 29 days November-December Tevet 29 days December-January Shevat 30 days January-February Adar 29 or 30 days February-March Adar II 29 days March-April It has been a while since I needed to consider these facts, so the internet has been a great help (grin) regarding how long a pregnancy lasts......... http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/Baby_due_date?OpenDocument Length of gestationThe average length of human gestation is 280 days, or 40 weeks, from the first day of the woman’s last menstrual period. The medical term for the due date is estimated date of confinement (EDC). However, only about four per cent of women actually give birth on their EDC. There are many online pregnancy calculators (see Further information) that can tell you when your baby is due, if you type in the date of the first day of your last period. A simple method to calculate the due date is to add seven days to the date of the first day of your last period, then add nine months. For example, if the first day of your last period was February 1, add seven days (February 8) then add nine months, for a due date of November 8. OK now to the genius (es) (plural) here, who might want to work out using some of the above data and information. If Mary became pregnant by the 'Hand of God' say last week of June.......... when would Our Saviour have been born into this world? Thanks for the mental stimulation!
