Does anyone have any experience with ear candling? I would love to hear pros and cons and your experience. Where to get candles, how to learn how to do it, etc.

Thanx

Hi,

I have done several ear candling sessions and I feel the most important part is the candles. Ear candling can be very tricky and even worse if you purchase lousy candles that can drip wax into the ear canal. I would also suggest finding someone who knows what they are doing. Do not try it on yourself the first time around! If you are interested in more information go to www.centerforthesoul.com. Leave me an email with your phone number and I will call you personally.

My daughter had it done and did it subsequently to her family - you can buy the candles at HFS here - what puzzled her was that the "gunk" that allegedly comes out of the ear and is evident in the candle appears when you don't put the candle in your ear too - she didn't notice any effect.

The blurb sounds great tho

When I ear-candle, I can feel a difference:

Puffiness under my eyes is gone or greatly diminished.

The stuffiness in the ears and head goes away.

My whole head feels better.

So--- whether some of the matter ---or all of the matter --- that

accumulates in the candle is just from the candle itself, the process

has made an improvement for me.

What studies have been done to determine if there are microbes in

this matter, pulled from the ear, that are not in a burned down candle

not used in the ear canal.

It may not be useful or helpful to some folks. You won't notice the

effects

of a couple of asperin (unless you are very sensitive to your body

processes)

if you don't have a headache. But the results can be dramatic if you do

have a headache.

I use them about once per year. The crud that comes out is wax and

dirt and I was very surprised the first time. You may hear some

popping noises while the candle is burning. Do not do this to

yourself. Make sure someone is around as I don't think you want to

burn your hair or your face. The candles really help to remove

stubborn wax that I would otherwise have trouble with. Any health

store or department should stock them.

Also, I use another product(drops) that help relieve congestion etc

symptoms but I use it on a regular basis to keep the wax out.

Good Luck

I'm a mother of 4 and I have been doing ear candling for the last few

years. With my oldest son he kept getting ear aches and we seemed to

be putting him on med's all the time. Then a family member told me

about it and I got the sticks at the local health store and I haven't

woken up to a child crying in the night unable to sleep due to an ear

ache in years. You may also be able to get the ear candles at an

Amish store. There they suggested massaging below and on the side of

the ear your about to do and down the neck. I still have no clue why

but hey it can't hurt and the children love massages, lol. The CON

side of this is sometimes depending on the persons ear (my husbands

drains it's nasty) you may use up one whole stick. It can gets pretty

hot when the candle get's close to the ear so we use a cut out

(wheather it's thick cardboard or something else)to cover that side of

the head/hair and always have a wet paper towel to put it out if you

blow it out it really smells up the house. Also the tip can callaps

when placed in the ear so watch for smoke coming up out of the ear

hole you want to make sure there's a good seal. They will have the

instructions where ever you get the ear candle. You can have someone

do it to you and that way you'll learn what your watching and

listening for :)

Good Luck! It's really beneficial when used right.

We used to do it several years ago but stopped because it seemed that

the wax that was still left in the ear built up and became harder to

get out. I had to end up letting the doctor use a syringe with water to

clean out my ear.
