I also found Aspartame in chewing gum as well, most chewing gums - the only one I didn't find it in was

Big Red.

I don't know if you have noticed, but for about the

past year, Big Red has been using aspartame. They

were one of the last to change over, but when I had

bought a new pack, it just didn't taste quite right.

When I read the label, no changes on it fron the

previous pack, it now was sweetened with aspartame.

Please check before you buy!

I noticed that my favorie chewing gum for more then 40 years..Wrigleys Doublement gum has added aspartame and another chemical sweetner..Acesulfame K. Why I ask myself did they add these along with sugar. I have always avoided these chemical sweetners because of side affects. I checked all the chewing gum at my favorite grocery store and no matter what the brand, They all had 'acesulfame K and aspartame added! needless to say, I will be reading the ingredients on anything that I buy and I will no longer chew gum of any kind. And here I thought that it (aspartame) was only in "sugarfree" items... I guess I will have to just stop chewing gum all together now, not that I really chew much of it anyway. At least now I am wary of other non-sugarfree items to watch for.

I would dare to speculate that "they" (the manufactures) are require to make the change due to government regulations.

I mean, I know that so much sugar is bad for you as well, but it is far better then aspartame.
