Guest guest
Hi I'm new to the group, I have been learning so much from you all. I just finished reading a book entitled " The shocking truth about water " by Paul & Patricia Bragg. It was an eye opener for me....according to the authors the inorganic chemicals in our tap water is killing us all slowly. They recommend drinking only distilled water. Can anyone recommend a good water distilling machine for a reasonable price. Where can I get a good one from ? Thanks in advance for your assistance. Have a wonderful day everyone !!! Guest guest
Hi, We recently installed a reverse osmosis in our house...isn't that going to help tremendously? I know distilled water is the best, but isn't this a close second? Thanks! jasmine herbal remedies [herbal remedies ] On Behalf Of letetiaThursday, July 28, 2005 12:31 AMherbal remedies Subject: Herbal Remedies - water distillers Hi I'm new to the group, I have been learning so much from you all. Guest guest
I don't really know about getting a water distiller and if you would really want to do that. I do know that you can buy distilled water rather inexpensively. Walgreens for instance carries it for about .99 a gallon. Guest guest
One of the reasons the RO water tastes better is because the RO manufacturers are smart enough to connect a post carbon filter after the RO membrane so that the activated carbon gives the water a sparkle and gets rid of the flatness. Most distilleries on the other hand do not have this post carbon filter and so you get the flat, dead taste. A post carbon filter would handle this. Of course the distilled water is purer and therefore better. Some RO units do NOT handle fluoride. With a good distillery, not only are fluoride, and the nano particles removed, but so too the nano bacteria which could possibly be in the water source. Guest guest
I recently researched water distillers and bought this one. http://www.healthnutalternatives.com/ww4000.htm (it's really less than $200) We were replacing our Polar Bear brand water distiller we had paid almost $1,000 for. It only lasted about 5 years. I figure if this cheaper one only lasts a year it will come out to the same price. I do hope it lasts longer than that though! It is easier to clean and takes up less space. Although it can't make as much (1 gallon every 4 hours as opposed to every 3 hours), it's enough. I believe it costs about 25 cents to make a gallon and you don't have plastic jugs to lug home or throw away. Not to mention the chemicals from the jugs leaching into the water you drink. I can taste the difference, water from plastic jugs usually tastes like plastic. Hope this info helps someone! Debbie in TX
Guest guest
A friend of ours sells RO systems and he tells people that distilled is the best, however most people don't want to mess with it, just want to turn on the tap. Guest guest
That's the problem. One doesn't really know without thoroughly researching the company who makes it, and even then one is taking it on faith. Then there's the question of the life of the membrane, and when it deteriorates, when does it start letting the Fluoride through. This is why I use a water distillery with a post carbon filter. Most water companies that sell distilled also use a post carbon filter. They too are smart enough to handle the taste factor.
