Guest guest
Hi all, It's been a LONG time since I've posted, but I do my best to keep up with the board. Lately, though, we've been *extremely* busy. It's nice to see everyone again. Please forgive me if this topic has already been brought up, I wish I had more time to scan the archives but I don't. What started out a year and a half ago as a small itchy, dry, scaly patch on the flexor side (that's the palm side) of my right wrist is now bilateral (both wrists) and running almost completely up and down (with varying severity) the ulnar (pinky) side of both forearms, even into the knife-edge of my hands. I have switched out ALL of my household cleaners, dishwashing and laundry detergents, never used fabric softeners in the first place, shampoos (I even found one with no sodium laurel/laureth/myreth sulfates in it!), conditioners, and soaps. I shop exclusively at the whole foods store for food, bath products, and household products. (I haven't even set foot in a regular grocery store in almost 3 years.) I have also tried every exclusion diet I could think of to eliminate the usual suspects like strawberries, dairy, peanuts, wheat, soy, chocolate, etc etc. I don't eat fried food, junk food, sodas, etc. I drink plenty of reverse osmosis water and we also do all of our cooking from this water, never the horrible tap water. I have discovered Ayurvedic medicine (India's ancient system comparable to Chinese medicine, and about as old) and I've been on an Ayurvedic diet for the last 2 weeks. It calls for a vegetarian diet, allowing for some fish, and elimination of pungent or acidic foods such as tomatoes, garlic, raw onions, & stuff like that, which I can understand, cuz when I ate salmon with some garlic powder on it, half my face even got hot, inflamed, and itchy, and the eczema rash spread there at that point. Recently, I came across 2 things, an electric stimulation biofeedback unit that was introduced to me by a massage therapist who said it helped her with some herpes-type outbreaks after being on suppressant medication for 10 years. She spent a couple minutes doing it on me and said that if it worked on this condition that it would improve in about 7-10 days. The other possibility is a low-pH acid water that you don't drink of course, but apply topically. Quite a few sources are touting this as being wonderful for skin rashes and stuff. They say that too much alkalinity applied topically can dry the skin out and provoke irritation and rashes. Point is, I'm sick of this rash and am looking for feedback from anyone who has survived/beaten adult-onset eczema. Also, I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has tried the 2 particular possibilities I outlined above as well. In case this topic is redundant, replies off-list are welcome as well as on-list. Either way is fine Thanks SO much in advance! Namaste, --Jeni-Laura (aka Jyoti, pronounced Joe-tee or Jodi)
Guest guest
Hello, nice to hear from you again! From what I have learned, when you get such a skin problem, it indicates that your kidney is not functioning properly. Normally, the body excretes toxins the regular method, through bowel movement. In your case, the toxins are being pushed out through the skin. On an immediate basis, FlaxSeed Oil helped me tremendously when I had such a problem. I had to take 3 tbs per day for that to have the desired effect, and it cleared up my skin within a week. Of course, that is just a Band-Aid to clear up the immediate symptoms. The permanent solution is the Total Body Cleanse. That will deal with the CAUSE of the problem, not just the symptoms. It will cleanse and repair your organs, so that they can eliminate toxins the normal method again. love Lisa - supervixen08 herbal remedies Tuesday, July 26, 2005 1:11 AM Herbal Remedies - argh - rip-roarin' case of eczema Hi all,It's been a LONG time since I've posted, but I do my best to keep upwith the board.
