Guest guest
My wife has been recently diagnosed with this disease. It is also called sporadic olivopontocerebellar atrophy (sOPCA). I would like any suggestions as to what vitamins and herbs to take and amounts. She is taking risperdal for depression and multivitamins. Guest guest
I'm not really familiar with this disease, but will offer this much: As far as the depression is concerned I would suggest good ol' fashion sunlight and St. John's Wort (much better than the drugs). As far as the multi vitamins are concerned if she is taking them in a pill form I would say don't bother. They are synthetic and can actually do more harm than good. They can't be used by the body. A better way for vitamin supplementation is whole food supplements e.g. Spirulina, chlorella, wheat grass juice etc... If you go to the files on our page there is Doc's total nutrition drink that would work wonders in vitamins and nutrients. The name of the disease makes me think it is possibly neuro-muscular. If so I would definitely recommend cutting out all exitotoxins in the diet. These include all chemical artificial sweetners and MSG. Other than that going on a raw food diet for a while may also work wonders. Hugs, Lauradesertdave2 wrote: My wife has been recently diagnosed with this disease.
