Guest guest
Hello all, I was wondering, how do you go about learning more about the maximum safe dosages of herbs & such? I have been doing searches of the herbs that I have decided to try, but it is hard to find out how much you can actually take of something while still being " safe " healthwise. How much more than the recommended dose on the side of a bottle of Passion Flower, for example, can you take and still be ok? Especially if the recommended amount doesn't seem to be enough on certain days? Also, how do you find info about how soon you can feel effects? I know with some herbs, like St. John's Wort, it is expected that you may not feel it for several weeks. But with others, like say, Valerian, you feel the effects within what, 15 minutes? 30? I find that kind of info hard to locate with some herbs. Is it just a matter of actually trying the stuff? And what about flower essenses? I have only tried Rescue Remedy so far, but it seems you can actually take a LOT of it and not worry about harming yourself. But how do you know for sure where to stop? Are there books out there with this info? Sorry if these questions sound silly. Just trying to learn as much as I can while I find answers to my health challenges. So glad to find this list!
