Guest guest
hi, i haven't posted for a really long time--i hope everyone is well. i went to the dentist today and am feeling a bit out of my element. i have always known that i have receding gums but today he suggested that i see a periodontist...and i know that means gum graft and that just seems drastic and unnatural and just not a possibility for me. so i am wondering if anyone out there has suggestions. basically my mouth is fine shape otherwise--i don't have gum disease, i don't have any tartar build-up etc.--really i just have delicate gums that have been brushed too hard, even though i use a soft brisel toothbrush. i have a good sense of how to make sure they don't get any worse (change my brushing style) but i am wondering if there are supplements out there that are good for aiding tissue growth/regeneration that would help to build back up my gums--the dentist says once they recede you can only prevent further recession...but i don't buy that! so yeah...any advice is welcome and appreciated... thanks, laura

Guest guest
Hi Laura I hope you get some answers. I have a very similar problem - my Dentist (as well as referring me to the periodontist) has me using this *awful* mouth wash (probably poisonous) which he says will help prevent further shrinkage - otherwise I'll lose my teeth :-(((( It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere. Guest guest
Thanks!! I did get an echinacea/goldenseal based wash that seems to have many of the ingredients of docs tooth and gum recipe. I am also taking COQ10 b/c I read a lot about that assisting, though I'm not sure if that helps more with gum disease (which I dont' have issues with) than regrowth. Yeah it's very frustrating b/c I think I have a lot of info about preventing further recession, but so far have not really found any info about getting my gum line back up where it should be...or whether that is even possible...
