Guest guest
New Article.... More NSAIDS (anti-inflammatory drugs) may cause heart attack risk... FWIW Jan / Michigan http://www.newsday.com/news/health/ny-hsibu0611,0,6214235.story? coll=ny-health-big-pix Or if above link gets broken up: http://tinyurl.com/benkx Study: Painkiller use carries heart attack risk <snips> (See above link for full article) Widely used painkillers may carry a significant risk of heart attack, according to a British analysis that raises questions about the safety of ibuprofen and other drugs in its class. The drug family is known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, or NSAIDs, prescribed for pain and inflammation. More arthritis patients recently began taking NSAIDS after fleeing related medications -- COX- 2 inhibitors -- because of their link to heart attack and strokes. We think that enough concerns exist to warrant a reconsideration of the cardiovascular safety of all NSAIDs, " said Julia Hippisley-Cox, lead investigator of the British study and a professor of epidemiology at the University of Nottingham. Her analysis is reported Saturday in the British Medical Journal.... Dr. David L. Brown, chief of cardiovascular medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital, said evidence continues to mount against certain NSAIDs..... Guest guest
There were articles to this effect in the newspapers this week: > More NSAIDS (anti-inflammatory drugs) may cause heart attack risk... One of the worst offenders (apparently) is Ibuprophen. Recently I had a gargantuan toothache and took very high doses of ths drug (not at all herbal, I know). Is there any way I can determine if my heart has been damaged in any way? Are there any remedies/herbs/preparations etc that I should look at taking to " undo " (if that's possible) any damage??? Or strengthen my heart??? The first rule of successful Dog Training is to be smarter than the dog - which is why some breeds are harder to train than others.
