Guest guest
The article did not suggest drinking coffee in excessive amounts. A lot of things are bad for your body if you use an excessive amount. No more comments - I actually posted this to the wrong group in the first place - but I see it woke a few of you up (without even having a cup of coffee). I love debates. Thanks for all the responses. Guest guest
Of course the key words there are, "In excessive amounts". Excessive amounts of water will also kill you. It's called drowning. There IS a therapeutic dose of coffee that is good for you, as caffeine will contribute to building nerve cells in small enough dosages. But remember, caffeine IS a drug. In small enough quantities, it is a stimulant. In larger doses it'll put you to sleep, and in very large doses, it is a poison and will kill you. Arsenic falls into the same category. In minute quantities, it is a stimulant. The difference in the general effects between coffee and arsenic, is simply in the amount of what is actually an "Excessive Amount" for that particular drug. ;-) Where a gram of Arsenic is a poison that brings about death, it might take a gallon or two of coffee to bring about someone's demise and be considered a poison. The maximum dose of coffee a person should have a day would be one cup, and that's only if there are no contraindications. Anyone with any kind of heart disease, or stress related disease should be off coffee altogether. Hope this helps.
