yeast question (nutritional LOL)

What brand of yeast does DOC use in the TN? I have several different kinds, and some I ordered and it has no 'nutrition statements' with it (from herbalcom) and so...yesterday I went to my old health food store and compared yeasts. Oh My Goodness. Some have honey, and fructose, and all kinds of little things added, one smells like beer (Ick to the hilt) and some has no odor..I am currently using the yeast powder from herbalcom, and yeast flakes ordered in bulk by the nearest health food store, and thy package it into bowls.

 

I wanted Solaray, but will have to order that. I wonder if the kinds I have are good.

 

So, Doc, what is your recommendation?

Hi Flo:

 

I use Kal brand nutritional yeast, I am vegan so I use it to make

cheese substitutes. I also put it on toast. It is grown on molassas.

The one that smells like beer is brewers yeast and not the same thing

at all.

There is bakers yeast, brewers yeast and nutritional yeast and they

are all different from one another. Nutritional yeast is high in the B

vitamins. As far as I know the two brands that are the best tasting

are Red Star and Kal.
