I have read of several cat owners having seen problems with

this " pesticide medicine " . Can still be legally sold on shelves

until March 2006, tho...

 

Please be aware if you have cats...

After at least 7,000 reports of injury and possibly 12 deaths in cats

and kittens over three years, the Environmental Protection Agency has

reached an agreement with Hartz Mountain company to phase out sales

of two flea and tick products for cats containing phenothrin....

 

Adverse reports began to arrive at EPA headquarters in 2001, shortly

after Hartz changed the formulation of the products to include 87%

phenothrin, a potent pesticide.....

 

Symptoms in the affected animals included skin irritation, hair loss,

effects on the nervous system, tremors, convulsions and, in a very

few cases, death, Jones says....
