Fluoride Damages

Children's Bones - Study

NYS Coalition Opposed To Fluoridation

6-7-5

NEW YORK (PRNewswire) -- White-spotted or yellow splotched teeth may

reveal more than needed expensive cosmetic dentistry.

Children with fluoride-discolored teeth (dental fluorosis) are more

likely to have bone damage, according to a study published in the

journal " Fluoride. "

Despite living in a low-water-fluoride district, 132 Tibetan

children, aged 8 to 13-years-old, developed dental fluorosis from

dietary fluoride sources such as brick tea, a popular Asian drink,

fed to children as young as two years old. (1)

Wrist x-rays reveal that 96% of those children with dental fluorosis

had " developmental skeletal abnormalities " including carpal bone

hardening or thickening.

" Therefore, dental fluorosis in children should be viewed as more

than a matter of cosmetic concern, since it can also be a sign of

early-stage skeletal fluorosis that might lead to full-scale

debilitating skeletal fluorosis in adulthood, " write researchers Cao

and colleagues.

Skeletal fluorosis with pain, stiffness and/or deforming bone

defects, is common in Nalgonda, India (See:

http://www.nalgonda.org/flourosis.php )

To avoid skeletal fluorosis in the U.S., the maximum-contaminant-

level of fluoride allowed in drinking water by the Environmental

Protection Agency is 4 parts per million (4 milligrams per liter).

But, some people exceed 4 milligrams daily from their diet, alone

(2). Up to 63% of children living in optimally fluoridated areas

(0.7 - 1.2 ppm) have dental fluorosis (3). More studies show a link

between dental fluorosis and bone damage.

A British Medical Journal study reports that older white women from

fluoridated communities have a 32% higher rate of wrist fracture.

(4)

A Mexican study links dental fluorosis to bone fractures. (5)

Polish pediatricians found abnormal bone changes in 11 to 15 year-

olds exhibiting dental fluorosis. (5a)

A Rheumatology International study links naturally fluoridated water

to knee osteoarthritis in amounts many Americans consume daily. (6)

Early fluorosis warning signs include joint pain, stomach pain,

excessive thirst and urination, muscle weakness, and/or anemia,

especially if accompanied by discoloration in the patient's front

row of teeth, according to Dr. A.K. Susheela, Director of India's

Fluorosis Research and Rural Development Foundation. (7)

A U.S. woman's spine pain alleviated when she avoided fluoride.(8)

" Americans are unaware that their arthritis or irritable bowel

syndrome could be fluoride-related, " says attorney Paul Beeber,

President, New York State Coalition Opposed to Fluoridation.

Would you believe that right now the NJ Dental Assoc

is pushing the state gov't to mandate flouride in the

water. NJ ranks 49th in the nation as far as amount of

flouridation in public drinking water and I would like

to keep it that way. I can't stand the fact that even

though American Dental Assoc does not recommend

flouride supplements for babies under the age of 6

months old, they are trying to push our state into

medicating the entire population. What about all those

babies who are given formula made with tap water by

unknowing parents?

I have already scoped out a reverse osmosis filter for

my kitchen sink. It stinks because we just put in a

whole house filter and I have been enjoying drinking

water from the tap but that won't take care of

flouride in the water.

There has been organized opposition to the

flouridation but when you're up against such a

powerful lobbying group who have touted the benefits

for so long, I don't think the " little guy " will win.

My husband and his brothers got fluoride pills as kids when they

lived in europe because it was not in the drinking water. From that

his and his brothers are brown. So its true. I took my son and

family off Fluoride toothpase and we only use natureal tooth paste.

He has nad no more cavites and its been several years now. If the

back of a tooth paste tube says dont swallow you know there must be

something wrong with it. But its ok to brush your teeth :-( Here is

a link i was given about it being in rat poison along with alot of

other things that are bad for your insides, though i would pass it

on. tabitha

I got fluoride pills as kid and I dont have brown teeth.

So I think there could be other factors too.

That I dont have brown teeth is because I had parents who almost

always made food from scratch and we had very pure water from an

underground source in the forest. That water is probably still pretty

pure but not as when I was kid, because there wasnt much chemicals

back then in nature. Now its worse.

Anyway I found an amazing letter online - a professor of chemistry who

wrote to government, but it was " forgotten " , of course.

http://gerardjudd.com/summation.htm

In that letter he say the best thing is to brush your teeth with

soap.....which I have done now for over a year, and I must say I will

never ever go back to toothpaste of any kind.

Nothing beats the clean feeling from using soap to brush teeth. And of

course when I save alot of money by not buying toothpaste, especially

from health shop, then I am satisfied, LOL.

So soon I am a " freak " who take with me my own natural olive oil soap

everywhere, hehehe....(I say this because after a town trip two days

ago I got allergic reactions to the soap in public places and I

decided to take with me my own soap from now on, because these

reactions is tough on my body).

Oh...I will try to answer the best I can....

I must admit I got surprised, heh...didnt think anyone would reply to

my post.

Ok, Olive oil soap is what you call for...umm..I never remember that

name...let me look it up.

Its made of olive oil, lye and water only, thats why I call it olive

oil soap. I have made it before, and its too bad I quit to make it

because my family and my friends say its so good, lol. Hm, I should

get back to soap making.....when I dont have more of the pure olive

oil soaps without perfume I bought in Greece (I bought so many because

they was so cheap and I have to use them up first, lol).

Ah...Castille soap they call it.

For those of you who want something to order, there is the tooth soap,

and that one is too made only by saponified coconut, palm, olive and

essential oil. It is with essential oils in it so it doesnt taste like

soap at least.

http://www.thecompounder.com/PerfectRx1.html

For those of you who want to make it to get it *much* cheaper, its

possible to make an olive oil soap and just have peppermint or

spearmint essential oil in it, enough to get a good taste of

peppermint or spearmint....

On this site http://www.eaudrey.com/basic2.htm is a recipe with only

olive oil, lye and water (scroll down the site untill you see the

olive oil soap recipe), also link " basic soap instructions " to how

make it and so on.

And yes you can get castille soap at health food stores. I know of one

that is extremely pure, but I dont know if you have it in USA. It is

here in Norway, in some health food shops.

Its called Alep Soap and its a brownish block with a stamp on with

syrian letters I think.

Type Alep soap in google and you get up alot of links. Even one with

the pictures of the factory when they restored it and started again

with this ancient recipe in Syria.

http://www.syriangate.com/soap.htm

Its the Alep soap I take with me when I go somewhere, to brush my

teeth and will also now use instead soaps in public places. I had to

buy it to try it and I like it alot....but yeah, I am going back to

make my own soap when I run out of the olive oil soaps here.

Its funny really but before toothpaste came at all, they used soap to

brush their teeth, if they did brush at all.
