Guest guest
Did anyone see the segment on ABC News about Protandim? Has anyone tried it? Protandim is a patent-pending formulation of botanical extracts that supposedly has been proven to be extremely effective in combating antioxidants. While the FDA has not endorsed it yet (no wonder there), it supposedly has been clinically proven (at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center) to eliminate age-related oxidative stress by increasing the body's own catalytic antioxidant defenses. It supposedly turns " on " the body's catalytic antioxidant system so that it can naturally produce key antioxidants inside the cell, where they are needed the most. The news segment had a reporter try it for 2 weeks and then they tested his blood - his antioxidant level was near that of a new born child. protandim.com ... it costs about the same as digestive enzymes per month. I'm just wondering .... Karen
Guest guest
Checked it... I just said " Oh, yeah " , lol... Milk thistle is a very great herb, so is ashwagandha. Milk thistle is very protective for liver....so only that would say it have alot of antioxidants. Ashwagandha is known in Ayurveda to be one of the best herbs they know of. The indian ginseng they call it. Many good benefits from it. Green tea, well most of us know it is loaded with antioxidants. Only little problem with it is for people with hypothyroidism...it do have some amount of fluoride. Turmeric also have alot of antioxidants....the curcumin, the yellow pigment in it, is effective for arthritis they have found lately. Turmeric is one of the spices in curry. Australian study found its effective for ADHD. Ayurveda doctors talk about it so then it means its an ayurvedic herb with long history. Bacopa monniera is an Ayurvedic herb used in India for memory, epilepsy, and as a mild sedative. It do have several antioxidants/flavonoids.... Guest guest
Oh Great, now the giant drug industries are messing with herbal remedies. When they extract certain compounds out of the herbs so that they can patent them they are changing the herbs actions. I wouldn't take anything that was patented by the drug companies. You never know what kind of side effects that you will encounter or what they have added to the formulations. herbal remedies , " zengirl04 " <zengirl04> wrote: > Did anyone see the segment on ABC News about Protandim?
