Guest guest
Hi all, I have a question regarding some of the recent thyroid surgeries posts. My mother-in-law has recently had the surgery also, after waiting a year because her doctor didn't believe it was necessary till she couldnt swallow Unfortunately, now, she has had problems with her calcium levels, and voice problems, all due to the invasiveness into the thyroid, and parathyroid. We expected SOME recovery time, but since she has always been such an active person, she is getting worried. She has no energy, depression, muscle fatigue, and now says it hurts to swallow again, like something is in her throat. My question is this: They originally told her that she had Hashimotos Disease, but with the removal of the thyroid that would be gone, but couldn't her antibodies start attacking something else???? I have heard lupis and fibermyalgia are all connected, so maybe this is what is starting with her? And if so, is there anything she can start doing in particular to help combating it? Also, the Dr. has been adjusting her calcium and the hormone levels, we are just worried this is more, Thank you for any input, Tiffany
