Guest guest
Can anyone tell me why all of a sudden one would develop a reaction to fresh fruit? This boggles my mind. I have never been allergic to anything and now whenever I eat a kiwi, my throat gets very irritated and my ears block up a little bit. Just wondering if anyone has any insights. Guest guest
Hi Melanie, is this organic fruit?? If not, could be the chemicals Hi Lisa, Yes it happens with any kind. The organic selection around here is something to be desired. But it happened with organic and regular and it is just kiwi. It happened with fresh kiwi and frozen. Actually the burning was worse with the organic.I thought maybe it was the vitamin C, but, wouldn't I react to oranges, strawberries and tomatoes?? Guest guest
Apparently, you're not the only one who has Kiwi allergies out there. Here is another link on kiwi allergies: http://www.geocities.com/nils_e_eriksson/allergy_against_kiwi.htm Take care, Kelly wolfprincess68 wrote: Can anyone tell me why all of a sudden one would develop a reaction to fresh fruit? Guest guest
Ok, I didnt want to say anything before because I thought someone here knew about the kiwi fruit.... Kiwi is one of the fruits that have allergens in it. Just google the words kiwi and allergen and you see it has been seen as one of the fruits on top of the list of allergens for 20 years now. One friend suddenly got dizzy and almost fainted a few times and he couldnt understand why. So he went to doctor and took allergy test. He reacted alot to kiwi, so that was what made him so weird. I think he said he reacted 170% to kiwi on that allergy test. Ick.... You will find your reaction symptoms and also other symptoms if it get worse, to the kiwi on this site: http://www.news-medical.net/?id=3139 I am sorry that you have got food allergy against kiwi. It is a very good fruit, yes. I eat it very seldom. I dont know why, maybe my body told me that if I ate it often I would get allergy against it. Guest guest
I think kiwis are pretty acid, (like those other fruits?) or, possibly, the particula kiwis were sprayed with something.. were they supposed to be organic, or not? Ayway, I believe that it's not that unusual to develop a sensitivity or allergy suddenly, and acid fruits seem to me to be likely candidates.
