Hi All! I am currently trying to rebalance my hormones and have

stopped the birth control pills for 4 months now,(Yay for me!). I just

had my first period in 10 years and I am have excessive bleeding. What

herbs would you recommend to ease/stop the bleeding. I am currently

using Doc's Female Formula to help with hormone balance and that seems

to be working well and I use cramp bark for pain which also works

well.

I have thought about adding in progesterone cream to my regimin as I

know that I don't ovulate and therefore produce very little natural

progesterone which is why I bleed so heavily. I am also overweight

which causes me to be even more estrogen dominant.

All opinions/recommendations will be gratefully accepted!

Hi Elaine,

I am no expert, but I would not take any more hormonal items into your regimen, otherwise the Female Formula cannot do its job in helping your body balancing the hormones. If this is your first period in 10 years, I would wait it out a bit to see what happens with your next period and the next one after that. It is most likely going to take a few cycles to get everything balanced out normally again.

Arnica is a homeopathic remedy, which is usually recommended as first aid to help heal any soft organs and tissues of the body. Not sure why they recommended it to you for thinning hair??? never heard it used for that. But yes, you can use it with vitamins together, but I would not ingest it at the same time though - allow a bit of rest time in between taking vitamins and Arnica.

If you took Total Nutrition, you would not need any extra vitamins :-)
