Guest guest
I've had baby fine hair for quite some time now. I've also noticed that I get little bumps on my scalp, at times, as well as some flaking. I can wash my hair in the morning and by lunch it looks like I haven't washed it at all. Does anyone have any ideas why? (come to think of, it seems much worse since my hyst. surgery. hmmm...hormones?) Well, I've heard of natural shampoos that you can make. Does anyone have any recipes that you could share? Thanks.

Guest guest
You might try Ceanothus. Native Americans used Snowbrush (Ceanothus velutinus) as the leaves, seeds and blossoms produce a nice lather. I tried it this last year and found that it does not cut grease but that it does seem to condition the hair. So an afterwash sort of thing. It has other medicinal uses too. I will have some seed here the later part of July if anyone wants to trade. I am really into our own 'undiscovered' plants that are not well understood in the naturopathic and medicinal plant circles. There are hundreds of plants right here in Washington State. -Ken ken herbal remedies , " mom26athome " <mom2home@h...> wrote: > I've had baby fine hair for quite some time now. Guest guest
Oh, sorry.... I forgot to reply to your post...was reminded when Ken replied.. You get those bumps on scalp and your hair looks like it does because you are reacting to commercial shampoo....chemicals, chemicals, chemicals..... I do that too..I can only use the most pure natural shampoo from health shop or make my own shampoo....shoot I have one recipe around here somewhere...let me find it... I dont know if you want to go into making your own soap since it is about using lye and all that stuff....also, this one is a blender soap recipe... Maybe you could ask our soapmaker in here if she want to make shampoo soap bars for you? But anyway....recipe... Soap II -- Pure Soap Mink Oil Shampoo 16 oz weight coconut oil 1/2 cup mink oil or (4 T. Castor oil) 2.9 oz lye 1 cup water (8 fluid oz.) Oil room temperature. Mix and use lye when the water turns clear. Put all ingredients in the blender. Follow the instructions for " Blender Soap " Don't let this soap trace. Process until the mixture is smooth (no oil streaks) and pour it into molds. Leave in molds 2 days Freeze soap 3 hours to release it from the molds. Age 3 weeks. And here is the blender soap instructions http://members.aol.com/oelaineo/blender.html W9 > herbal remedies , " mom26athome " <mom2home@h...> > wrote: > > I've had baby fine hair for quite some time now.
