Guest guest
:-) My neighbor gave me some mint. I replanted it and cut off the top portion. It is currenly hangin upside down on the garage wall to dry. This is my first plant :-) How liong do I let the mint dry before I pull of the leaves - then do I discard the stem? I am so excited hugs Deana

Gardening, especially herbs, is one of my favorite activities. As soon as your plant is dry, crumbly like cornflakes, it is ready. You can run your fingers down the stem backwards to get the leaves off, although I have been know to crumble it up, stems and all, for tea. If you discard the stem, use it for compost. Mint is very invasive, so if you haven't got it planted in a container, I'd do that right away. Beth
