Guest guest
I just talked to a woman (my dental hygenist), who lowered her cholesterol significantly by taking 1000 mg of niacin a day.. you might want to reseach this and get some other info before trying it. You would get a definite niacin flush from this much niacin, probably.. it feels like your skin is hot and even a bit itchy for a little while, and you might appear flushed. Guest guest
My friend had high cholesterol and she did hulda Clark's cleanse, and now her cholesterol is low.. Does Doc's cleanse might have a similar benefit? scott. herbal remedies , " sillymetl " <sillymetl> wrote: > Is there anything to lower my cholesterol from three hundred.I > don't want to take the cholesterol drugs because there so bad for > you liver. thanks
Guest guest
Here's what I've learned so far. You need to cut dairy from your diet. These foods can be quite harsh on our bodies and they will cause your cholesterol to be high. Of course, exercise and eat right. Also, start taking Niacin (vit B-3, I think). Take 500mg before going to bed each night. You can get the non flushing kind and they're a little easier to handle. You do this for 4wks. Then, you increase the dose to 1000mg, then after another 4wks, increase it to the recommended dose of 1500mg/day. This is the regimen that my doctor gave me b/c I can't take the statin drugs (nor do I want to). I prefer to spread out my dosage throughout the day. In the beginning, and every once and awhile since I started, I did get what seems to be an extended hot flashing. You can literally see it in my face. But I get through it. Maybe someone here has some suggestions on how to minimize this. There is also red yeast extract that is said to be the base for a lot of the harsher drugs, but my body didn't tolerate this very well. So, I'm sticking with the niacin and will go back to recheck in another month. I'll let you know how well it's worked. Let me know if you learn anything else. Thanks. herbal remedies , " sillymetl " <sillymetl> wrote: > Is there anything to lower my cholesterol from three hundred.I > don't want to take the cholesterol drugs because there so bad for > you liver. thanks
Guest guest
Vitamin C.....The body compensates for lack of Vitamin C by increasing production of lipoprotein cholesterol(a) in an attempt to overcome scurvy symptoms. The [LP(a)] does what vitamin C would do: plug leaks and decrease leakage of fluid from vessels. When too much Lp(a) is made, the extra is deposited in the vessel wall and that initiates arteriosclerosis, which contributes to stroke, coronary disease, and cardiovascular disease. ~~Flo herbal remedies , "sillymetl" <sillymetl> wrote:> Is there anything to lower my cholesterol from three hundred.I> don't want to take the cholesterol drugs because there so bad for> you liver. thanks
Guest guest
Research on the internet Red Yeast Rice, where I used to work sold lots of this, even had doctors send their patients over to get it. One man said it had lowered his 30 points and a woman said it lowered hers much more than that. The Pharmacutical Companies have tried for a long time to get the FDA to pull it because it works like their Statin Drugs. It hasn't been pulled yet though. It's best taken with CoQ-10. Niacin helps as well, like Scott said. - jsh_95433 herbal remedies Saturday, May 28, 2005 12:17 PM Herbal Remedies - Re: Help Cholesterol Problems I just talked to a woman (my dental hygenist), who lowered her cholesterol significantly by taking 1000 mg of niacin a day.. you might want to reseach this and get some other info before trying it.
