I had to recently make the decision to have a spinal fusion surgery

due to being a victim of a car accident in December 2004. I sustained

a permanent low back fracture that will only be fixed by having this

surgery. As an online student in the process of receiving a degree as

a Nutritional Counselor in Natural Health, I researched every avenue

and option available to me before making this very difficult decision.

I take very good care of myself and am very healthy otherwise. In

fact, most of the doctors that have reviewed all my xrays are amazed

at how very healthy and straight my 40 year young back is!

I do have a question or two though.....I would like to know a

suggestion for preparing my body and mind to do this surgery. I would

like to know what would be the top 5 supplements that I should take

previous (one month prior) to the surgery. I juice, and throughout

the last six unpleasant months, I have been doing juice fasting and

detox programs ...so that I know I am not bringing to the surgery any

unnecessary health/immune burdens. I have several books that I have

researched in regards to helping me sustain excellent health during

the surgery and post surgery. But, there is a lot of info and I

would like to try to narrow it down to the top 5, or top 10 most

beneficial supplements for me to have...this doesn't count whole

grains, fruits, veggies, etc...just supplements.

I drink plenty of water, and I am big tea fanatic....I have had some

very amazing personal experiences with the health benefits of tea.

So, any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated! (I don't

have a date for the surgery yet....am still waiting to discuss with

the doctor...)

Thanks!

Lois
