Hi All,

I hope someone out there can help me. I have been having intermittent

unexplained nausea for 5 months now. I am 43, female, with no history of

stomach trouble at all. I never even had it with pregnancy! I have had an

endoscope, colonoscopy, small bowel biopsy and C-diff culture twice, all

negative. I do not have excess acid or reflux. The gastro doc has no

explanation as to why I still have nausea all day some days & episodes that

come in waves other days. I have recorded everything that goes in and out of

my body and can see no pattern at all. I have done a total body cleanse,

two liver cleanses, countless bowel cleanses, I take probiotics and drink

kefir daily. Do any of you have any ideas for me? I am so miserable with

this.

Blessings,

Sarah

Dear Karen,

When I originally saw this post I avoided it because these types get a

little research intensive. If there are lags between my answers on this

please allow for them. I was going to let anyone else pick it up but I guess

no one has. Well let her rip my way then.

How old is cat? When did it get nerve damage, what caused the damage, any

other odd symptoms? What is the cat's diet now, on any medications, if so,

how long?

Any other information you can give on this?

Herbal Remedies - Question for Doc or Zeb

I posted about a cat who has potential nerve damage - any suggestions

for what can be done? DMSO? etc.

Thanks,

Karen

Sarah -

I had the exact same symptoms many years ago - no diagnosis. While I

still don't know the cause the last natural nutritionist I went to

suspected one of two things ... a parasite (which most doctors don't

test for and can be difficult to get rid of), or in my case it could

have been the beginning of an adrenal problem. I'm curious to see

what they tell you - my guess is a parasite.

It's miserable - hope you feel better soon.

Zeb -

I don't know the age of the cat - maybe 6 yo. He as shot with a .22

rifle one week ago - he made it home and was at the vet all last

week and returned home last Friday.

My friend states- " The bullet either clipped or bruised his right

radial nerve, and he has no use of his right front leg. It's

possible that it will recover, can't use the steroid anti-

inflammatories until we're done with antibiotics, but so far there's

no sign of any improvement there. "

Yesterday my friend wrote: " The doc says to give it 3-4 weeks at

least; and he leaked a couple oz. of fluid buildup yesterday, which

may have relieved pressure on the nerve; and I see signs of more

activity -- the shoulder is mobile, although that's not run by the

radial nerve. I'm optimistic, but still interested in any remedies

that could help. "

He's probably on a regular diet - some type of store bought cat

food. Otherwise, he has been very active and healthy.

Whatever you recommend - my friend is not holistic oriented and will

need some explanation/justification for the actions to take. That

said, Cujo is his baby and anything that seem logical to him he'll

do.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Fresh Ginger is a great aid for nausea.....Cut up some fresh ginger root and throw it into some boiling distilled water for 15 minutes. Pour it into some into a cup and drink it like tea. Fresh ginger tastes way better to me than the ginger tea packets. I think this should give you some great relief....

> Hi!

Sounds strange. In any case, ginger is one of the best things to take for

nausea. I use it when I have an upset stomach or ailment, and it works in

no time. Just sprinkle about a teaspoon in with any kind of tea you drink.

Usually one cup is enough, but if you are having persistant problems,

maybe drink it more often. If you do not have acid or anything like that,

it should not irritate you further. If it does, there is always something

else that will work for you. Hope this helps somewhat.

Karen,

thank you for your reply. I have been through several rounds of

antibiotics and parasite cleansing programs and it has not changed at all.

I am seeing an endo in a couple of weeks, I am a little symptomatic of

Zeb,

All this nausea started in November of last year. Seemingly out of the

blue, I starting having weird " waves " of nausea and flushing periodically

throughout the day. It seems to go on for 5 or 6 days and them stop or at

least lessen for several days and then the cycle starts again. Eating

crackers and alkaseltzer have seemed to help some. I have seen no obvious

pattern relating to the timing of my eating, or what I do or don't eat. I

do however seem to feel my bowels moving shortly after each of these

episodes and sometimes I have a bowel movement within a few minutes

following the nausea. I have asked my gastric doc if dismotility can cause

this but he says no. I have read that nausea can be causes by motility

issues though. Taking EFA's as well as fiber and plenty of water hasn't

helped though.

Now, to your questions. I did start adding celtic sea salt and lemon to my

water in Feb of this year, well after the nausea started. I had my

potassium checked and it came back normal, but a little on the low side of

the scale. I have had issues with vitamin D being low and have had to

supplement it a lot in the last year. My levels have been normal with D for

6 months now. I garden and we have a pool so I am just now getting back in

the sun but I am pretty moderate with exposure, no more than an hour a day.

Think back to the earliest time I remember the nausea? Are you talking

about when this all began in Nov? Or are you talking about as a child?

Zeb, I so appreciate your taking an interest in helping me. My PCP is open

to any ideas, testing etc. but seems at a loss to diagnose me.

I don't think this is in my head and I am not under any major stress but I

do feel tired a lot. My thyroid has checked out too.

Thanks again, Sarah

hmmm, Sarah, this flushing wouldn't by any chance indicate a pre-menopausal symptom, now would it???? Nausea can be from that also!!!!! Apparently one can have pre-menopausal symptoms for as much as 10 years before the actual menopause! I discovered I had them too about 2-3 years ago, and Doc suggested then the Panther Piss and Vit E. I didn't have nausea but other symptoms, and they went away after a while with the PP and Vit E ( as well as the Total Nutrition).

Sarah,

Don't rule out a parasite regardless of what the endo finds. It may

be a multi-pronged problem - which as I think about it is probably

what I was experiencing.

Good luck with it. At the height of my experiencing this problem I

didn't tolerate fast motion well, like turning a corner in the car.

It was better if I was driving, but not so good as a passenger -

kind of odd really.

I forgot - the reason I said not to rule out parasites is that from my

experience it can take several months of parasite supplments to get

rid of the little devils. A little bit like fleas I guess, you can

kill the adults (most isn't good enough), but then the eggs hatch a

couple of weeks later - it's difficult to break the cycle. They can

feed on sugar and yeast in the system.

Plus, you need to make sure you have the right supplement for the type

of parasite. We are reinfested with parasites all the time - if our

immune system is compromised or not strong enough we don't fight these

off as well as we should.

Maybe Doc will enter on this discussion or maybe there is an article

that describes the situation with parasites.

I know that is a possibility, I just hope not. I can't imagine being this sick for years!

Re: Herbal Remedies - Question for Doc or Zeb

hmmm, Sarah, this flushing wouldn't by any chance indicate a pre-menopausal symptom, now would it???? Nausea can be from that also!!!!! Apparently one can have pre-menopausal symptoms for as much as 10 years before the actual menopause! I discovered I had them too about 2-3 years ago, and Doc suggested then the Panther Piss and Vit E. I didn't have nausea but other symptoms, and they went away after a while with the PP and Vit E ( as well as the Total Nutrition).

Re: Herbal Remedies - Question for Doc or Zeb

Zeb, All this nausea started in November of last year. Seemingly out of the blue, I starting having weird "waves" of nausea and flushing periodically throughout the day. It seems to go on for 5 or 6 days and them stop or at least lessen for several days and then the cycle starts again. Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy. 3. The Constitution guarantees you the right to be your own physician and toprescribe for your own health. We are not medical doctors although MDs are welcome to post here as long as they behave themselves. Hello Sara,

Just because you might be ill due to pre-menopause symptoms, doesn't mean that you'd have to suffer until you get the menopause LOL.

You mention in another email that you take the pill. I would suggest that you are suffering from a hormonal imbalance. The handling for this is the Female Formula in the files. The pill screws around with your female hormones, and that's probably also why you are suffering from pre-menopause whereas your mother didn't. I have the same and my mother also didn't suffer. But I took the pill for many years, and she never did. Also, when my mum was young, they didn't have hormonal injections into the food animals, which also screws with your hormonal balance.

The Female Formula is very potent and works excellent!! I use it also. I don't need to use it all the time - I take it for about a week when I get some symptoms, and then they disappear again. So I only take it when I feel I need it.

However, this is not going to work well as long as you're on the pill, so you'd have to give up the pill and find another solution for that.
