You have my sympathy. I had a car wreck 11 years ago that changed

my life. I have resented that change, but learned to live with the

results as one has not other choice but to pick up and go on.

 

I have C6 & C7 that are compressed and permanent nerve damage from

that. The only time it bothers me now is when it gets inflamed -

then I am in misery. Thank God it doesn't flare up often any more.

I also have no fluid in L3 & L4 from the wreck. Early on this

caused my lower back muscles to go into spasm and draw up my right

leg 2 " shorter than my left leg. The limp this caused was most

unattractive, not to mention, painful.

 

The good news is, that over time, your brain will reroute itself to

handle the chronic pain for you. God is good! To help your body

you will need to make sure that you get enough sleep. It takes a

lot of energy for your body to handle chronic pain to where you

don't really notice it anymore. As you are able, doing back

stretching exercises is a big help. I believe there are some in the

files. Walking will be very helpful once you are over the trauma

and the imflammation is down. Listen to your body. If you are

overdoing it will tell you. Listen. If you don't - you will pay -

BIG time. The little bit of exercise also helps with the

depression. Also, just knowing that you are doing something to take

back control over this change to your body makes a big difference in

your mental picture. Be good to yourself.
